Hertbeats arranges supervised health walks which take place at 10:00am on the first and third Wednesday of every month except in December. They are currently postponed due to Coronavirus.
To join the group contact Ed Jones tel. 01727 850165 or mobile 07745 295691 email@example.com. He will let you know where the next walk will start from.
First Wednesday walks are three miles which are about 1½ hours long. Third Wednesday walks are about two hours long and are around five miles.
Walks are always surveyed beforehand to check that they are suitable and that there are no severe gradients nor any difficult obstacles. Participants are normal leisure walkers, you don’t have to be a hardened hiker.
The circular walks follow many different routes and they start and finish at different places in and around St Albans and from surrounding villages.
It is a friendly and convivial group which welcomes new members – so feel free to join in. Contact Ed as above.
Walks are on Wednesdays in the first week of the month (3 miles) and in the third week of the month (5 miles). There are no walks in December.
Ed Jones, who organises the walks, has submitted the following update>>>>>
“I am waiting to hear what the Government guidelines will be on the 4th July before deciding on how and when we can resume walks safely for groups. If we continue to be two metres apart that won’t be practical, especially when we come across other walkers on narrow paths. When I do resume I’ll arrange a short walk, say two miles, on the first Wednesday and a longer walk on the third Wednesday. From various communications I have had with members, some of you have not walked at all since early March and others have been out regularly, so I will try to cater for both extremes!”
