“The History of English Silver Hallmarks”
Tuesday 19th November at 8:00pm
St Mary’s Church Hall, Sherwood Avenue.
Martin Attridge will talk on “The History of English Silver Hallmarks”.
Martin spent most of his working life in computers. On retirement he became a National Trust volunteer at a wonderful early 15th century manor house at Lower Brockhampton. He gave talks on various aspects of the 18th century. He also collected a number of antique objects to show visitors including small sterling silver pieces.
Bring along a silver object of your own and see if Martin can establish whether it is English silver, where it was made and even who made it. (Limited to one piece per person).
Come along and learn more about silver and bring your friends they will be most welcome.
