New Hertbeats Cycling Group
Cyclists in Hertbeats have got together for healthy bike rides. The group will meet at 11:00am on the second and/or fourth Wednesdays in the warmer months of the year. Rides will be leisurely and not too strenuous.
Latest government rules (end of June 2020) allows people to cycle together in small groups complying with the social distancing advice.
Graham Imber of Hertbeats announced, “As we’re likely to go off road and along bridleways and paths for at least some of the time, the rides are more suitable for those with mountain or hybrid bikes rather than road bikes with thin tyres. You’ll also need a means of transporting your bike as we’re likely to try different routes from various starting points. Please wear a helmet. We expect most rides initially to be around 5 to 8 miles. They won’t be a race and we expect to make frequent stops for water and rest.”
The club proposes to go on the second and/or fourth Wednesdays of each month on the weeks between the Hertbeats Walking Group days (which are on the first and third Wednesdays)
If you’d like to take part and become a member of the Hertbeats Cycling Club contact the group on firstname.lastname@example.org or via the Hertbeats WhatsApp group.
This activity is unlikely to be covered by Hertbeats public liability insurance so taking part will be entirely at your own risk.
An inaugural club ride took place on 1st July starting from Sandridge Village Hall car park @ 11:00am. It was a great success.
