Cardiac Risk in the Young – CRY
Sudden death from a heart condition, especially when the death is of a young person, is a tragedy for family and friends. The charity “Cardiac Risk in the Young,” or CRY, offers bereavement support, awareness, screening and research. See www.c-r-y.org.uk .
Screening of young people is an important service and a cardiac screening session is planned to take place soon in St. Albans for those aged from 14 to 35. It will be held at the Samuel Ryder Academy in Drakes Drive on October 20th. The event is being promoted by Hertbeats.
Subsidised ECG and echocardiogram screening will be offered to discover any life-threatening cardiac conditions which could cause sudden and premature death.
Each screening test costs £75.00 and Hertbeats is appealing for local St Albans area businesses and residents to make donations to ensure that the planned screening will take place. If you can assist with sponsorship or a donation you will be rewarded with the knowledge that you may have prevented a premature and unnecessary death of a young person.
Please email Brian Gibson president of Hertbeats on firstname.lastname@example.org to offer support.
